My dear fellow MyCard citizen

BBC News: Malaysian jailed for maid attacks

This is some of Malaysian's dirty secret that most rarely see in the newspaper and not to mention it in the international coverage. I'm not surprised at first when this case was exposed to the public as i heard some familiar incident before. It is really inhuman to abuse our pet animal and don't mention another human being. Malaysian has a bad track record in maid abuse cases and Indonesian government started to get very worried about their citizen.

I aware some of the inhuman treatment by my own fellow citizen towards the illegal and legal immigrant. We tend to look down and take opportunity on these people as it is our birth and citizenship rights to do so. I saw young illegal kids work in food shop and served food to kids that one and two years older than them. Some youngster was economically force to work as a maid in these early stages of their life and was left out their opportunity in education because their own and adopt country don't really care much.

There are some few good soul and organization that helping those people and making sure they got the fair treatment in this country that resulted to the greatest expose of the dark side of the maid abuser. I always wonder the hypocritical mind of my fellow citizen of their daily cost of living. One side they said, their income not enough even they earn around 4 or 5 figure salary but complaining giving their maid overpaid monthly salary on 3 figure salary. They can admire their own kids’ success in certain field and career and despite those immigrant successes in the same.

Nothing I can do to change this hypocritical situation that happening even the time you read this blog post. We're so advance in striving our civilization up to a highest and newest mark of excellence with criticize other country and nation brutality and unjust to their people but become ignorance of other difficulties and suffering that happen in our own back yard just because they are not our own fellow citizen.

Royale Invisible Resurrection

Malaysia Insider: Royal push for immunity

I feel goose bumps reading this headline in Malaysia Insider web news. It is an attempt by a royalty member to resurrect the immunity that was the birth rights of the royalty or monarchy members for long time ago until one case that ended their privileges all together for many sultans in Malaya.

It is not a surprise to anyone at this advocating by royalties because this will help them from many problem that themselves created by their own ignorance. It will be stupid if large portion of Malaysian support this immunity restoration to the royalty from all the monarchy states. We're not just restoring only one royal family, but few more that potentially can bring new problem to this new and modern society.

I find it disturbing that any idea of giving back immunity to the royalties was given chances to reconsider. Advocating from the royalties will be intense and big because they thought things can be back to old days and their ignorance and selfishness act to try to bargain with the people.
"The full immunity from civil and criminal proceedings should be reconsidered so that he is on par with other constitutional monarchs around the world…Royal immunity has been lost for 15 years. It needs to be reclaimed and reinstated so that the constitutional monarchy can be restored to its full sovereignty so as to play a more fitting role in the 21st century as a guardian of the Federal Constitution

Constitutional monarchy becomes irrelevant to the political and constitutional in this modern century. In the case of Nepal Monarchy, the people reject their existence due to their selfish act toward the people that bring the country to major conflict and internal civil war. The people are getting tired of the royalties’ impotence in solving the country problem until one incident that convinces the people that the monarchy should seize to exist. Nepal then becomes a republic nation.

All the members of royalties should understand that immunity to law not the bargain chip for guarding the federal constitution. Malaysia constitution is still being violated even before their birth right immunity stripped away. When the sabah's 20 point agreement was violated by some selfish and corrupted politician, did they say or do anything to guard the agreement and withhold the constitution that should be honored by the Malaya side of provinces. They do nothing and just are quite. Is being quite when the federal constitution was rapped so many times are the act of guarding the sovereignty and the constitution? They only just interested in guarding things that only bring benefits to themselves and their families.

Reading lots of headlines and cases that involved the member of monarchy in Malaysia, it strengthens the argument that immunity should not be given to any specific person and group in any hierarchy of the society. We complaining and despite that the American soldier in Iraq were immune to prosecution over anything they done during the war and how can in other hand accept the same that we hate.

Anyone can be Malaysia PM?

Non-Malay PM is possible but not multiracial party, says Dr M: Malaysian Insider

I read lots of strange headline and quote in online media and newspaper. Thou, I find this headline is the strangest of all. I don't really understand what our dear father meaning by just simply spitting out a redundant and meaningless word of wisdom for Malaysian to ponder. What does our dear father mean when a non Malay pm is possible but not multiracial party? I believe the thing that holding non Malay to take the top post in Malaysia government power post is the racial party and we need to get it over the racial line to be able to revolve to a new liberal rather than the conservative thinking that colonized our mind for more than 50 years.
"When you talk about a non-Malay PM, you are being racist, because you shouldn't ask the question whether a Malay or non-Malay can be PM. Here everyone can become Prime Minister, but he must be a leader of the majority party,"

When the black American talking about a black president, does this mean they are racist. Why we Malaysian cannot question the government whether a Malay or non Malay can be a PM or not when the chances of being a PM in Malaysia are based on the three racial parties that compromised on a unfair quota system and top post positioning. Who is to decide what is racist or not and what is the clear definition of a racist person? What are we talking about here?
"It doesn't work, every multiracial party is dominated by one race, like Gerakan and DAP. Even PAP in Singapore is not multiracial,"

I am so surprised with the fact twisting from our dear old father quote. It is true that the PAP of Singapore dominated by Chinese but it still respect some other minority race in their head of committee to make sure all people are represented and able to view their own different voices. I don't see any "mata sepet" and "kulit hitam" with a white dot in his or her head in the UMNO website committee page. At least the PAP got some other races as members and in top post even if they not the majority in their party. BN is a classical and ideal example of rule and divide concept to guarantee the power stay only to UMNO top high mile private club membership only. UMNO has evolve and become a cronyism party that hide behind the racial mask that only benefits certain circle of people and become so hard to access even for the Malay themselves.
"I can assure this is very difficult to handle. I have no confidence in Obama, what about Najib. This is too big for Obama and Najib. We need to change the system, to change the system, we need international cooperation,"

Changes is not easy, and nothing with good intention is easy because all the bad stuff glued so tight at something that pretty and beautiful last time. Thanks to our old dear father ignorance and failure to oversee the mess before it permanently become the life and living that eating inside out and slowly killing the nation and people. President-elect Obama not just gave hope to the American, but all the people around the world. He gave us Malaysian the inspiration that nothing is impossible. With a good plan and effort, all hurdle and barrier can be overcome and I hope that he will succeed in his plan not just to change America but the whole world. It might be a too high expectation from a person who just like you and me, but at least he proven to us that change is on progress. Malaysian can change too if we proven ourselves to be worthy as a leader and not just by compromised, quota and race. When everyone outside the nation move one step towards new idealism of change, we Malaysian still struggling to hold to the old ideology that withhold the nation to move along side with other nation.

President Elect Barack Obama Historical Speech

I envy you American. Click here for the speech transcript.

Some interesting quote:

#1
If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.

#2
And to all those watching tonight from beyond our shores, from parliaments and palaces, to those who are huddled around radios in the forgotten corners of the world, our stories are singular, but our destiny is shared, and a new dawn of American leadership is at hand.

To those -- to those who would tear the world down: We will defeat you. To those who seek peace and security: We support you. And to all those who have wondered if America's beacon still burns as bright: Tonight we proved once more that the true strength of our nation comes not from the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity and unyielding hope.

#3
Yes, we can!

Malaysian, can we?

OBAMA WON!

History was made in America, there are still hope for change in Malaysia and i believe it now.

Sabah God of Gambler back to political stage

NST: Former CM Osu makes comeback

I thought he gone for good in the political stages after a casino exposed his gambling habits and his misused power issuing the government state cheque to pay his debt loan.
KOTA KINABALU: Former Sabah chief minister Datuk Seri Osu Sukam, who was ordered by a United Kingdom court to settle RM7.14 million in gambling debts to two London casinos two years ago, could be making a comeback.

I don't really know if he paid all his debt back or not. It quite strange for the UMNO Secretary General Tengku Datuk Adnan Mansor clear the way for him to contest. The reason for approval to Osu because he only involved in civil case and not a criminal case. I don't really know how the UMNO people define their moral value, but i believe UMNO is a islamic party and gambling sure is a taboo for them. To have a leader with a gambling history in his record will be a bad selection as one can say, don't trust the gambler with your money.
He said Osu's eligibility had been in question because of a court case involving him. However, Adnan said since it was a civil case Osu should be eligible to contest the post on Nov. 8. "He is involved in a civil case and not a criminal case, so Osu can contest," he said.: Daily Express

It look like the UMNO leadership going so desperate and allowed the God of Gambler to contest to be the leader. It is up to the people of that division to decide if they want a leader with gambling habits to lead them in future. As well as let a child molester to be their son or daughter baby sitter or a robber a security job in your bank or jewelry store. I don't really know if the people are so messed up to make a good judgment on who qualify to be their leader, but a habit gambler that think he can be a leader in UMNO sure crazy to think he can get pass through this.

It looks like today Malaysian prone to elect leader that directly or indirectly has a bad criminal or civil record. The scary the record was, the higher you will achieve to the leadership ladder. Crazy and it only happen in Malaysia.

Democracy that was flushed down to the toilet

NST: I was betrayed by my allies, says Jui Meng

I believe it too naive for me to think that pure democracy still exists. In the latest MCA general election, we saw changes at the top leadership especially when the deputy president won by the self outcast leader Chua Soi Lek. Ong Tee Kiat won the president seat beating the competitor Chua Jui Meng. Now Chua Jui Meng makes statement in the news that he was betrayed by his allies during the election.
MCA leaders known to have endorsed Chua for the post included deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, vice-president Datuk Dr Ng Yen Yen as well as former vice-presidents Datuk Donald Lim and Datuk Seri Dr Fong Chan Onn.
Jui Meng said that according to their agreement, "we were supposed to vote for one another".

It looks like there was some arrangement to get the seat of the top leadership in MCA instead of leaving it to the democracy practice to decide. Prearrangement before the election seems to be against the structure of fair election that was spoken very strongly from the leadership. Here are some contradict moral value by our leadership that we should aware and alert.
"On election day, I kept my word. I instructed my supporters to vote for these leaders but I was betrayed," he said, adding that some of them went back on their word as he later found out that their supporters were not told to vote for him.

It is appropriate for a candidate to instruct the party members to vote certain people in the election? It sound like a fraud in the party election and the result should be void and the involved leader should be punished. It might not happen but would be nice if it do so. We heard lots of preaching from our leader about justice and human rights, thou few of them really mean about it. It was quite sad to know that Malaysian is so easy to trust the leader so fast. I still believe in Malaysia system in election but I doubt democracy play a large part on it.

When Tengku and Tunku in a brawl

The Malaysian Insider: Malaysian princes come to blows

When two royal house hold fight like a common people, will they be prosecute in a royal court or common court? It obvious written in the news that the cause of the brawl caused by unknown personal reason. To make it more interesting, the royal family who most Malay society upholds their religion at the highest is breaking the law of religion.
Several people familiar with the alleged beatings on Saturday say that friends of the grandsons from the Johor and Negri Sembilan royal households were in separate groups at a nightclub in the heart of Kuala Lumpur on Friday night.

I don't really know if the religious department will going to take action on those royal families that break the shariah law. Religious department in various states spoke highly on the religious law and act so actively to catch and humiliate innocent and guilty couple in park and release fatwa over some issue but not dare to comment and taking action about the royal household that brawl in the night club.
Lawyers and political analysts say the latest incident involving the royal households of Negri Sembilan and Johor is likely to be watched closely and will be a test of the government's determination to bring the country's royalty to legal parity with commoners.

I believe when two people no matter they are leader, king or royal member broke the law that they hold upon, they should be punish within the law. The two tengku and tunku brawl in a common nightclub, both of them should be punished with common law and shariah law. I find the so confused that the family of the head of religion immune from persecution of any law if they do so breaking it where the common people was not. How the head of religion will lead the people with their up most respect when they don't walk the talk.

Eurocopter Purchase: Just let the monkeys do the shopping.

EUROCOPTER PURCHASE: No physical evaluation done on helicopters, Dewan told

Again, the BN government silliness was presented by the mainstream news. It was saying that our government almost spent more less 1.5 billion ringgit of tax payer money without further research on the merchandise they plan to buy. My god, how can they do this to us? I guess, they don't care because the money not comes out from their pocket. I found it very disturbing when they give out the reason this happened.
He said it was also to maintain the integrity of a six-man valuation committee, to ensure it had no direct connection with bidders for purchase, which was conducted via international open tender.

What they think when they said that? Would anyone buy a car or a house without have a test drive on the car or looking at the property on sport or talking to the seller? That was a most stupid thing to do when going out for shopping. Don’t they know or learn about accountability and arbitrary evaluator or some sort of that thing? It sounds so silly that our leader knew nothing about doing a big shopping for the nation. Might as well just let the monkeys do the shopping then.

I scratch your back, you scratch my back

UMNO Party General Election saw lots of new and old faces move in to contest the top post in the party. Nonetheless, i don't think there will be any changes happen when the new top committee taking over the job. There are still strong influences from the old regimen especially from Tun Dr Mahathir who sling shot his son Mukhriz to the top of the Pemuda UMNO wing. It then was strengthen by the ad hoc support by the Pekan UMNO youth division that suggest to be indirect endorsement by Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Pekan nod for Mukhriz suggests Najib backing

Tun Mahathir who is the top critic of Abdullah Badawi's premiership gave his endorsement to Najib Razak to be the next President of UMNO and officially gave the Prime Minister seat to him. Even if this is not the personal endorsement from Najib to Mukhriz, some unknown systematic plan is running during this candidacy of the UMNO top post. I cannot help to think that the process of fair election and democracy is alive or dead in this time.
Khairy, who was seen as the favorite to take over the movement’s leadership until the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi, his father-in-law, announced that he was not defending the presidency, received his 39th nomination yesterday from the Tangga Batu division, in Malacca.

I see the malays look their leader as a noble man and not a qualify leader. History dictate that only certain clan and connection qualify and able to lead the country. The leader was chosen by some top influences political person or with a good and well network and connection by birth and rights. Mahathir has created himself a new noble clan family that far influences than the states royalty. Prime Minster endorsement was look more like a royalty order rather than a support of certain candidacy. To critic the Prime Minster is an action that can be punish same as disloyal act to the king or sultan.

Democracy and justice was spoken many times by the political leader in the mass media but spoken like a breath of air. Malaysia leader preach and telling the world that they honor democracy and justice but not walk the talk by doing other else thing. Corruption and favoritism became the mistress of our trusted leader and only few groups of people benefited the growing wealth of the nation. The rest has to depend to the mercy from them only if their goodness can be return with a full loyal to them.

End Special Privileges, would it be possible?

The Malaysia Insider today;
Najib ready to end special privileges for Malays

I thought it too good to be true but it seems to be understandable when he said it in a tv interview at Bloomberg Television. Malaysian leader are well known to talk different thing on the tv and do other thing in real.
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 24 — Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is ready to end the special privileges for the Malays, but stressed that this must be done gradually.
In an interview with Bloomberg Television, the Prime Minister-designate said "if we do not change, the people will change us".

It is easy to Najib to talk the talk when in reality, it is impossible for UMNO to accept the end of something good for the party members. I believe most of the left wing extremist would oppose this action because of their neo-malay conservative mentality.
Some analysts Bloomberg spoke to expressed doubt that Umno, the leading party in the ruling coalition, is ready to give up a programme that helps its members. Political consultant Karim Raslan said Umno hasn't fully accepted how much it needs to change.

Even the political analyst don't really believe changes among the UMNO member about the social contract would happen even thou the changes bring more good than bad to their races.

Reading about this news is just like reading a fiction story book. It sound so true but in one deep mind, it just a fantasy. I believe most of the majority Malay acknowledge that the social contract bring more bad than good, but within UMNO and BN, their survival depends to it because without it they will be not be relevant anymore.

Poor people living in a 1 Million illegal Mansion?

I don't really understand when i read this article in theStar,
Villagers tussle with church

It look like there is a tug of war between the church and the villagers about the land that a 1 million ringgit mansion that was built illegally in a church's land. I wonder why on earth a 1 million ringgit mansion built on a church land and why the church doesn’t stop it when they start the project earlier. It smells fishy at this point. I wonder what happen to the million ringgit mansion by Klang MP.

I quote an earlier paragraph;
MALACCA: About 100 villagers from Kampung Ayer Salak, Bukit Rambai, were engaged in a standoff with church authorities yesterday over the demolition of a RM1mil mansion which was built illegally on church land.

And this second quote;
“It is not a situation where the church is depriving poor people of a roof over their heads,” he said, adding that the proposed home cost more than RM1mil.

The church authorities were accused by the building owner of depriving poor people of a roof over the head. That sounds ridiculous and insane to the top.

The land was officially belonging to the church and the villagers were allowed to stay and open the land many years ago. I don't agree with businessman Peter Lim who argues that he can do anything with the land without any permission because the church authority didn't do so previously. Mr. Lim doesn't aware that the church has given them a very good life by letting them to do some plantation over the church land and they should be obliged to their rules and not trying to cut out a piece of it by the greed.

It look like the businessman Lim has gone over his head with his wealth and trying to use a lame excuses that poor people like him should be allowed to live in a big mansion. If businessman has extra money to build an extra home, why not he try to buy the land from the church instead of building a big house in hope to strengthen his claim over the land free of charge. It look like a bad management on the church land lead to some people to take advantage over the church land where mostly located in a very exclusive area.

Reading this news make me think if the church management did a good job in making sure their blessed land will not be stolen or taken advantages by greed people who in disguise in the community with a purpose. Many stories were heard about the mismanagement of the church funding by the people who we trusted most for their own personal benefits. If that true, I guess they only need to explain to god himself and not to us.

Teach Malaysia Social Contract to School Children.

Perak Sultan was quote in NSTOnline,
Sultan: Teach young on Social Contract

The problem was, how are we going to teach about social contract when the people, lawyers, politicians and the leaders can't seems to agree to what it is. Doesn't it enough for the old to be confused? Do we need to drag the young one to be brain washed with certain version of social contracts that lead to political agenda and propaganda?

Malaysia social contract was a mess that originally Malaya problem. Sabah and Sarawak was dragged into this social contract unaware of the risk and liability. Every article and resource written about social contract pointed to the Malaya historical fact and Sabah and Sarawak only added to associate it with the Federation of Malaysia. Does social contract include the native races from Sabah and Sarawak? If included, why there are issues brought up by Tuaran MP Datuk Wilfred Bumburing as i quote in Daily Express,
Tuaran MP Datuk Wilfred Bumburing claimed that Bumiputeras in Sabah and Sarawak had been placed in the same category as thousands of illegal immigrants in Sabah, devoid of race distinction, as shown in official statistics and application forms as "yang lain-lain" (others).

To make it short, Malaysia Social Contract not really well defined and variety between the people, lawyers, politician and leaders. When Malaysia government strong stand against the Africa apartheid regiment and the Palestinian repression by the Israelite, how can they allowed such double standard racist policy exist in this country?

My concern to the teaching of social contract to the young generation would actually seed in racist sentiment among them. No good can come out when a Malay children was told that the government and constitution will forever protect their birth rights no matter they hardworking or lazy and non-Malay children learn that no matter how hard they struggle and strives in life, they need to give way to the Malay first. Sabah and Sarawak natives not really there when the social contracts was first agreed, if that so i think they will not have any argument about that now.

Golden Parachute for Valuecap Sdn Bhd?

Malaysia Insider wrote,
EPF to lend the RM5b to fund Valuecap

I'm not expert about the big corporate company in Malaysia but after watching so many news about the 700 billion dollar bail out and their hope that the money not ended to the management own pocket, I had a bad feeling about where most of money going to ended up.

Malaysia was not a new player in bailing out on big lost company. This was happened way back to the 90's when Malaysia Corporation Policy turn bad during the asia economic crisis. All hell went berserk and money from people pension fund flow out like a burst dam. I believe half of the money went to the management's own pocket known in the state as a golden parachute.

Najib really gave a new meaning of money value by just approved a 5 billion bail out to one company. How much more he willing to give to company the money that he didn't own?

Malaysia datukship are getting ridiculous.

I read it in disbelieve when news about Shah Rukh Khan was given a "Datuk" title few days ago. Nothing strange about it, because the last previous "Datuk" also given to someone who just sat in a space rocket courtesy of the Malaysian tax payer money.

The reason Shah Rukh Khan was awarded to this title according to the Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam as i quote;

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam said the decision to confer the title on the actor was suggested to Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob by former Finance Minister Tun Daim Zainuddin recently.

Daim said it was a means to promote Malacca and the actor had shot a movie scene here several years ago.

TheStar: People just Khan believe it!

It look like our dear leaders are getting the kick out listing some people that he or she like to our tax payer money title without considering their achievement to the nation or the state. This raised a great concern on their mental state and ability to make a good judgment when big crisis happening to the nation such as today, the downfall of the nation economy.

Nevertheless, we can see some well deserved Nicol David and Lee Chong Wei awarded this title because of their contribution and hard work in achieving great success in international sports.

Only few well deserved people were awarded a high rank title from the government compare to lots that were questionable. We will see many more of ridiculous people given an honorary title that sooner or later will downgraded the prestige and the respect of it. I bet people from other country laughing at us and felt sad over our leaders’ mental state of mind.

Illegal to legal: Has Malaysia MyKad been compromised?

It is a shock to read the expose about the MyKad scandal in the news. Sabahan politician was heating up the pressure to the Federal Government to solve this issue and find the culprits that caused this catastrophic problem to Malaysian sovereignty.

She lost MyKad, now citizenship gone too

SAPP to show proof of Sabah MyKad scandal

Above are the expose that signaling the intensity of the JPN failed in protecting its own citizen. Illegal immigrants can easily purchasing a legal citizenship rather than a fake document in the black market. This is a serious matter that should be investigated by the government and if not it will cause unrest and distrust from the people.

It look like the JPN unwillingness to explain and investigate this matter given an impression that the cause is from the inside itself. I remembered an incident on one JPN office in one small town was closed due it was compromised by certain group to supplying legal Mykad print to illegal immigrant. It was huge news in the town but suddenly disappeared from the public news.

Sabah MyKad crisis is an achilles heel to a bigger problem that could shaken the fundamental of the sovereignty and security of this nation. With the influx of the illegal immigrant that obtain a legal status to stay in Malaysia, it will slowly sideline the local people and at worst taking over Sabah in future. The fear of some administration to admit wrong doing and the fail and delaying in fixing the real problem will break the country in half and unrest in its sociopolitical balance.

Do we need MCA in Sabah?

Today on theStar:
Sabah needs more MCA reps, says Lim

Sabah do really need more chinese representative in the state government but not from MCA. MCA become weak all these years because they bow down to the UMNO policy and slowly neglected to fight for the chinese benefits. How does it make sense to put more lame duck and chicken MCA representative when in Malaya, MCA not function as it should be?

Malaysian Chinese Association is a racial based party that started in 1949 by the Kuomintang (KMT) party as an alternative party to Malaya Communist Party. Since the pakatan UMNO, MCA and MIC was established, the chinese community benefits slowly being taken away until most of them have to move to overseas to find social economic opportunity.

MCA believe that compromise is the way to ensure the peace in this multiracial community. There are no doubt in this intellectual wisdom but this also a cause to the slowly dwindling, less opportunity and benefits in many ways and the neglected by the leader who only interested to stay on power than to fight for the chinese community. With the compromise position taken by the MCA leader, UMNO become more daring into its policy to rule out chinese community in the government development policy. Chinese then has to find their own way to ensure economic opportunity in private sectors and overseas.

Sabah chinese community was not represent by a single race party, most of them represented in a multiracial chinese party such LDP and SAPP. DAP went in to sabah only recently and able to won one seats in Parliament. I don't agree a Malaya based party to represent the benefits of the chinese community in sabah but it should be represent by local party that power based in Sabah. Sabah all these years was governed by the Malaya people by proxy in the BN. This proxy government has no say in anything and most of time taking order and policy from the Malaya based party. This is the reason why it is so hard to solve some great issues such as the illegal immigrant, oil royalty, and economic development that supposed to bring benefits to the state.

Joe Biden and Sarah Palin VP Debate

Click here for the debate transcript.

I watched the America vice Presidential debate rerun and found it less suffering between Barack Obama and John McCain Presidential debate. There will be two more debate, one for the presidential and one for the vice presidential nominee. The different between Sarah Palin and John McCain was that she is energetic and enthusiastic on this debate. Sarah Palin has the opportunity to debate in some issue with full respect from Joe Biden compared to John McCain with Barack Obama.

John McCain in the latest presidential debate did not show any respect to his opponent Barack Obama when he repeatedly said he not ready nor could understand the intensity of the issue that raised while Barack Obama hold the disrespect with point or argument and discredited John McCain accusation. Joe Biden and Sarah Palin each other seem to having a great time debating with each other with respect to each other that i didn't saw it from John McCain.

The debate was widely pronounced that Joe Biden clearly won the debate. Sarah Palin did better but still not qualify to sit on the VP chair. Sarah Palin really need a good homework and experience in many ways if in future she would like to go out again to contest for the President of America. It will not be a very great disappointment for Sarah Palin if John McCain lost the Presidential Election because she still has a very long road to go. Now, Sarah Palin has a very strong platform and opportunity to climb and promote herself once again maybe to become a first woman to be the President of United State America if Hillary Clinton or other woman did not take it first.

Sabah Lame Duck MP got some guts after all, or He is not.

Today at The New Straits Time Online

Majimbun to show proof that MyKad have issued to foreigners in Sabah

and i quote:

“I will bare all, including proof of people who were not born in Sabah becoming citizens of the country (in Sabah),”

“Just imagine our population increased by 285 per cent between 1970 and 2000."

The question is, why it took so long to take any strong action against the federal government? Sabahan are complaining for a very long time about the false citizenship infesting badly for a very long time. The ironic thing was, this is not caused by the federal government but more to the local self inflicted. If only the local leader willing to take strict action against this thing, this will not happen at first.

Sabahan leader has already proven them self to be a lame duck leader. Action taken was influences to their self political conscious and benefits. Echoing an old unresolved problem such as the illegal, corruption, mismanagement and especially the 20 point agreement now was not because they care for Sabah but for their own political agenda. Sabahan leaders tend to be strong when on the opposition side but a pure lame duck after got their power.

Proof that He also a Lame Duck MP and a puppet to BN handwork.

Hillary Clinton: The Real face of a Politician

I always believe the world was not as what we seen. There are multiple layers and layers that cover the actual truth that we never thought it can be. While randomly surfing and looking over videos in YouTube, I found his video documentary is about the wrong doing from the presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. I don't really highly regards Hillary as a best choice for becoming the next President of United States America because of her bad track record on past and her attitude and cunning action during the democratic presidential campaign.

I don't really suggest the viewers to believe all what said in the documentary, but at least this is a wakeup call for all of us that a political motivated person cannot to be trusted fully. They might look good in appearance but ugly inside their heart and motivation.

Part 1/2

Part 2/2

Malaysia has its own political drama that can be read in the internet and main stream media from the Mahathir's high court judge, PM Abdullah Badawi's corruption, Najib's connection with Mongolian murder to Anwar's most controversial sodomy case. Many layers of truth and lies covers the truth and it is quite impossible to know the truth unless there are some people with the resource and the right motivation willingly to do so. Luck still on our side because most of this resource can be viewed in the internet and truth slowly slipping out to the general public.

2008 America Presidential Debate and UMNO Presidential Race

I just finished reading the transcript of the Obama and John McCain presidential debate. I prefer to see it on video but i can't find a good link that can let me watched it without lagging, so i choose to read the transcript. To view it on youtube, please click the link below and continue from there.

Click here if youtube not appear.

To make is short, i felt like watching a son and father debate. Obama, a new and eager motivated and filled with idea to run the country and John McCain, an old minded (conservative) person that think he right by experiences and regarding Obama as an inexperience chap. Reading from the transcript of the debate reminded me arguing with my parents, they just don't want to listen. I don't really know what Obama felt that time but if he ever got an argument with a hard headed old person, that what it will be felt.

I believe both candidate arguments were very good but i prefer Obama because his idea and strength believe to benefits the general Americans. Of course, there will be a large portion of American people that choose to be a conservative that choose to path with John McCain argument. In a long run, a liberal like Obama is the best choices for the American and the world generally unless the people voted to choose otherwise.

In another same parallel event in Malaysia, the UMNO presidential races are also going on. Unlike the presidential race in America, Malaysia power balances are focused at this main race based party. Whoever won the leadership in this party, will legally hold the top post of the power in Malaysia. Even if the Pakatan Rakyat becomes the government, there will always be rules to ensure the top power of the Malaysian government secured to the Malay and only to the Malay as multiracial party based leadership is a taboo unless changes happen in the mind of the community itself.

Many speculation describe that Anwar will be taking over the government in an unofficial fashion. I really want to see the changes in Malaysia, but i personally don't really want changes in this dishonorable fashion although most people this it is right to do so. I haven't seen any leader or any party yet that qualified and taking over the leadership of the country. Pakatan Rakyat look like to be a promising path to go but most of the people knew that it is not the perfect combination when racial based mentality still in the heart and mind of most of his leadership.

How much you pay for your domestic helper?

I was reading the news at theStar online and saw the poll column below. I voted the third option that gave the Filipino domestic salary around 800 - 1000 ringgit. I clicked my choices and a bit surprised with the result.

Most Malaysian do not think that domestic helper should be getting a high paid. The more labor intense the work is the less it should paid. Many who have the luxury of hiring a maid don't really know the intensity of the work of the domestic helper. Today the domestic helpers do more chores and task a normal housewife.

The poll result point out to one thing, the disrespect of Malaysian to the domestic helper. This is another version of slavery in progress. I saw a younger domestic helper below the age of 18 and doing house chores and work that even the employee never did before at this age.

I believe domestic helper no matter from Indonesia or Philippine should deserve a higher pay due to the intense work they done. The government should be better care of the exploitation to the domestic helper from irresponsible agency and employee that underrate and abuse the domestic helper. Domestic helper should be treating with a full respect because they all are the same no matter the education and status.

Sabah's 20 Point Agreement

On 16 September and 45 years ago, Malaya, Singapore, Sabah and Sarawak joined in this day to create a Federation of Malaya. Today, only Sabah and Sarawak celebrate the Malaysia Day with a special holiday and no mention about it except the codename 916 by the Pakatan Rakyat to taken over the power from the BN ruling government.

It was discussed many times in the newspaper about the 20 Point Agreement, but few knew what really it is. I only knew few points myself and not remembered most of it after reading about it many years ago during last time this was discussed. Not until today, I surf and found this wikipedia entry that listed out the point but i can't really verify it because i can't verify it with the real document.

Basically the 20 points are:

Point 1: Religion

While there was no objection to Islam being the national religion of Malaysia there should be no State religion in North Borneo, and the provisions relating to Islam in the present Constitution of Malaya should not apply to North Borneo

Point 2: Language

* a. Malay should be the national language of the Federation
* b. English should continue to be used for a period of 10 years after Malaysia Day
* c. English should be an official language of North Borneo for all purposes, State or Federal, without limitation of time.

Point 3: Constitution

Whilst accepting that the present Constitution of the Federation of Malaya should form the basis of the Constitution of Malaysia, the Constitution of Malaysia should be a completely new document drafted and agreed in the light of a free association of states and should not be a series of amendments to a Constitution drafted and agreed by different states in totally different circumstances. A new Constitution for North Borneo (Sabah) was of course essential.

Point 4: Head of Federation

The Head of State in North Borneo should not be eligible for election as Head of the Federation

Point 5: Name of Federation

“Malaysia” but not “Melayu Raya”

Point 6: Immigration

Control over immigration into any part of Malaysia from outside should rest with the Central Government but entry into North Borneo should also require the approval of the State Government. The Federal Government should not be able to veto the entry of persons into North Borneo for State Government purposes except on strictly security grounds. North Borneo should have unfettered control over the movements of persons other than those in Federal Government employ from other parts of Malaysia into North Borneo.

Point 7: Right of Secession

There should be no right to secede from the Federation

Point 8: Borneanisation

Borneanisation of the public service should proceed as quickly as possible.

Point 9: British Officers

Every effort should be made to encourage British Officers to remain in the public service until their places can be taken by suitably qualified people from North Borneo

Point 10: Citizenship

The recommendation in paragraph 148(k) of the Report of the Cobbold Commission should govern the citizenship rights in the Federation of North Borneo subject to the following amendments:

* a) sub-paragraph (i) should not contain the proviso as to five years residence
* b) in order to tie up with our law, sub-paragraph (ii)(a) should read “7 out of 10 years” instead of “8 out of 10 years”
* c) sub-paragraph (iii) should not contain any restriction tied to the citizenship of parents – a person born in North Borneo after Malaysia must be federal citizen.

Point 11: Tariffs and Finance

North Borneo should retain control of its own finance, development and tariff, and should have the right to work up its own taxation and to raise loans on its own credit.

Point 12: Special position of indigenous races

In principle, the indigenous races of North Borneo should enjoy special rights analogous to those enjoyed by Malays in Malaya, but the present Malays’ formula in this regard is not necessarily applicable in North Borneo

Point 13: State Government

* a) the Prime Minister should be elected by unofficial members of Legislative Council
* b) There should be a proper Ministerial system in North Borneo

Point 14: Transitional period

This should be seven years and during such period legislative power must be left with the State of North Borneo by the Constitution and not be merely delegated to the State Government by the Federal Government

Point 15: Education

The existing educational system of North Borneo should be maintained and for this reason it should be under state control

Point 16: Constitutional safeguards

No amendment modification or withdrawal of any special safeguard granted to North Borneo should be made by the Central Government without the positive concurrence of the Government of the State of North Borneo

The power of amending the Constitution of the State of North Borneo should belong exclusively to the people in the state. (Note: The United Party, The Democratic Party and the Pasok Momogun Party considered that a three-fourth majority would be required in order to effect any amendment to the Federal and State Constitutions whereas the UNKO and USNO considered a two-thirds majority would be sufficient)

Point 17: Representation in Federal Parliament

This should take account not only of the population of North Borneo but also of its seize and potentialities and in any case should not be less than that of Singapore

Point 18: Name of Head of State

Yang di-Pertua Negara

Point 19: Name of State

Sabah

Point 20: Land, Forests, Local Government, etc.

The provisions in the Constitution of the Federation in respect of the powers of the National Land Council should not apply in North Borneo. Likewise, the National Council for Local Government should not apply in North Borneo.

Looking at this point, i would like to refer to Point 7 as quote;

Point 7: Right of Secession

There should be no right to secede from the Federation

I really want it to be a typo, unless it written at the original documentation that technically seal the future faith of Sabah to the federation that when think about it not a good deal. Why do our past leader could sign and agreed on this point when it means "once you in, no way you out", unless the federal government got fade up with the state such as Singapore, they just need to kick them out.

After reading this 20 point agreement, i really felt that our previous leader was advocated in a very unfair agreement especially Point 7. Other point agreement was terribly violated and ignored due to our local leader failure to let the people know the and didn't put a fight over the violation by the UNMO controlled federal government.

Other legitimate discussion about the 20 Point Agreement was raised by the DAP Lim Kit Siang during the Ma Tzu statue controversy as i quote:

Point 1: Religion

While there was no objection to Islam being the national religion of Malaysia there should be no State religion in North Borneo, and the provisions relating to Islam in the present Constitution of Malaya should not apply to North Borneo.

If Point One of the Twenty-Points had been strictly and scrupulously observed, Sabahan and Malaysians would have been spared the many divisive issues which had polarized Sabahans and Malaysians – such as the confiscation of printed materials for Christians in Sabah because of the unconstitutional ban of the use of the word “Allah” by non-Muslims or the half-way stop-work order for the construction of the world’s tallest RM5 million Mazu statue in Kudat because of a fatwa by the Sabah mufti that it is haram in Islam to construct the Mazu statue.

source: Keynote Speech by Lim Kit Siang when launching the DAP Kadazan-Dusun-Murut (KDM) Declaration at a DAP KDM convention at Ruby Hotel, Kota Kinabalu on Saturday, 19th January 2008

With this point, i believe that Sabah is a socialist state within a federal coalition. This point is important to secure a free religion state to the people of Sabah not even when the majority of the people are muslim. The declaration of Malaysia constitution that stated Islam is the state religion doesn't mean it can interfere with the legal status quo of the nation. Attempt was made by some people to change the Malaysia civil law to a syariah law should be assumed as an attempt to revoke the federation coalition and Sabah and Sarawak should be excluded from the transformation and given the rights to renegotiate to reestablish back the federation coalition or not.

I personally think that Sabah can't really be an independent nation due to the mistake and ignorance that was done by the past leaders. If any chances that Sabah able to be an independent nation, there will be some other problem that needed to be solved. The first problem that will instantly be is the recognition from the Philippine Government and the Sulu Royalty to demand the return of this nation back to them. This will create a greater arm conflict that was long time infested in the provinces due to the overwhelming illegal that was rooted in this state.

The better solution for Sabah is to renegotiate the federation coalition with Malaya, and reconstitute this federation into a fair power sharing and economic wealth distribution that benefit fair and just among the coalition state. The Prime Minster post should be rotated between the federation states that only consisted between Malaya, Sabah and Sarawak with a time limit of term allowed. Malaya should be consider and was considered as one entity in the federal coalition and not the small states within the Malaya itself. If that so to recognize those small states, Sabah and Sarawak should have at least the same amount in total of states compared to Malaya to secure a fair representation of the federation.

I believe that Malaysia needs a new overhaul of its constitution problem due by loop hole and inconsistency that bring to the violation of the rights of the member state of this federation. In the meantime, Happy Malaysia Day!

Not a Happy Day for Malaysian

I'm not happy in these few days. Abdullah Badawi who not happy about his lamb that not happy with the press that not happy with his speech during the election.

Everyone not happy about this. Najib said that he not happy too. This made the lamb not happy about it and it made some one not happy too.

Blog Comment Post: Revolution of mind: Political intelligence

My comment to one of the blog post was reply in a fresh blog post. I would like to highlight my respond in my blog too so that i can share with other people to read. Comment only to the person blog that you choose to give comment.

My reply to revolution of mind: political intelligence by delasagos.

i don't really have argument with PKR and DAP using this issue for the political ammo. i glad that the PKR and DAP got their revolution and won some states in Malaya. i envy to the point that the malaya people really cooperate and push for the change and they did that, but so sad knowing sabah and sarawak still a strong hold of BN that full with political lies and corruption.

the "CHANGE" that inspired from the us presidential candidate barack obama influenced a bit to the outcome of the latest election result. when few states in malaya changed, sabah and sarawak not change at all. i believe the PR failed to change the sabah and sarawak not mainly caused by the money politic but the split between sabah and sarawak PKR and DAP representative. i saw few parliament district votes splits evenly between the PKR and DAP and BN won by small majority. if PKR and DAP not contested at the same parliament district, the PR can won few seats for sabah and sarawak parliament seats.

why not the sabah and sarawak PKR and DAP working together and distribute their representative one by one againts BN? at least they has a bigger MPs in parliament. even sabah and sarawak contribute big portion of the parliament seat, they're still look down by the malaya MP especially from UMNO. what gave them rights to insult the sabah and sarawak MPs when big portion of MPs come from sabah and sarawak. it is an insult to the sabah and sarawak MPs when the UMNO MPs demand a sign letter of loyalty "akujanji" only from sabah and sarawak MPs not to defect to PR.

i personally felt that sabah and sarawak MPs scared to fights for the well care of their states. they let the ultra UMNO flock them like a lamb and one day used as a sacrifices if necessary. sabah BN state government are a proxy of UMNO based rulling and has no power to decide the policy in sabah. to add more to the pain, i find it so ridiculous to see two malayan people anwar ibrahim and shubrey debated about something that they don't really belong as quote "as their (malay) heritage" about the oil. the sabah and sarawak oil was control by the federal government and coincidentally control by the ultra UMNO or BN.

the problem was, i find it disturbing to listen a wrong people fighting for a right issue. wrong people such as anwar ibrahim and jeffery kitingan those have the chance to make changes but didn't do anything until they were brought down. the same thing with our former prime minister mahathir mohamad. i find it hard to believe the 360 degree changes view he written in his blog. do you think he will write what he wrote if the government run in his favor? he wrote against the badawi government because badawi no longer protect his cronies and him. without his the protection from badawi, mahathir change leaves and distracted people looking at his bad previous thing he done by strongly attacking the badawi leadership and others.

this trend of change leaves and inconsistent among the ex-BN leader is a sickness and shouldn't allowed to be happen. i looking forward to see more new and fresh non ex-BN leader emerge into the sabah and sarawak political scene that can change the mentality of the people and fight for the rights and well care of the states. it is maybe a dream that will never come true but it is a good dream for us to dream about. ;)

It is a bit crude, i hope you all don't mind.

"Taat Setia": To the people or BN?

I read an article on Utusan Malaysia about the group statement of Sabah and Sarawak MPs loyalty to the Barisan National Party. The "Taat Setia" declaration was announced at the press conference in the Parliament.

The act taken by the Sabah and Sarawak MP gave an honorable feel but the truth was so disgraced and it is an insult to the people of the Sabah and Sarawak many ways. What did BN party contributed to the Sabah and Sarawak until such significant act needed? Yes, some may said the elected MP is the representative of the BN party as whole and the people choose the party and not the elected MP. I find it so disturbing to know that the Sabah and Sarawak MP are so weak to do their job to fight for the well being and rights of their constituency and state but so eager and strong to play politic game against the opposition.

Persekutuan Malaysia: Satu rentetan minda.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

I'm not doing anything lately. I'm supposed to do convocation portrait for a studio but because of the miss communication, my job was given to someone else. I don't really mind with that because the pay was too low compared to the duration of work. I hope to get some extra wedding work at this end of the year but unfortunately, people set to choose for a cheaper price that i find it hard to accept.

So, what i has been doing this recently? I'm downloading Star Trek Deep Space Nine and watching it episode by episode. I watched almost all the Star Trek Series excluded The Original Series and The Animated Series. I really like to watch the Star Trek not because of the space ships and costume, but the story telling and the idea that exist in this Star Trek world.

Star Trek really is a good tv series to watch if only if one interested with science, politics, philosophy and art. It is not a real science by right, but a fictional imagination of what really future supposed to be for us. It is very hard to explain in few short sentences but i believe star trek has influences our technology development that i saw in the series. The most important thing is the Personal Access Display Device and was well known as a mobile computer or PDA (Personal Digital Assistant).

Star Trek series world gave a very interesting political idea that mirror out our reality world. I had to admit it is quite idealistic rather than realistic by nature but it gave insight of our very complicated political and social culture. Human species represented as a life that evolved from a selfless thinking people to general benefited race that become one of the high race in the universe. It looks a bit hard to believe of this fictional idea but it is possible when we think about it. Maybe was not in my life but another few more. The significant thing that always make me realize and historically proven is, human only learn by mistake they done. It means, we need to do some great mistake to make the world more better living.

It would be so long to elaborate about this series. Please look at the link in the paragraph for further information about this series.

Black Out!

TheStar reported a state wide black out happened in Sarawak. I guess it is a very big incident.

Sabah experience at least twice a week black out average 4 hours. A state wide black out not a big deal for sabahan, even a computer user that depend electricity to surf the internet. If any frequent black out happen, my two power backup batteries with one plug in to the computer and one to the modem. I do this setting so that i can save all my work and not disconnected from internet while chatting.

Plugging in a power backup also important to computer user because the unstable current flow and frequent blackout can harm the computer. The unstable current flow in sabah due to the overcapacity can also harm any electrical appliances and it will not long lasting.

I don't know why it is so hard for the government and electrical company to give a good services to a business that theoretically essential to the people everywhere. The reason that always given was insufficient fund to repair and maintain the electrical facilities. Where was the money gone? I think most of us knew it but we tend to look away.

Youtube from Queen Rania of Jordan

YouTube is a video sharing website where users can upload, view and share video clips. Everyone can register a YouTube account and upload their video for sharing to other people and get an instant feedback. This interactive feedback among the video creator and reader is a good platform for many political and social activities.

I wrote an article of few youtuber previously and introduced some creative youtuber to keep watch. They utilized the full potential of this website to present their own thoughts and talent and get feedback from the viewers.

The internet culture revolution really attracted few well known people to use the internet as their official platform for their own works. In Malaysia, political godfather such as Lim Kit Siang, Mahathir Mohamad and Anwar Ibrahim personally using the internet platform to express their statement rather the old news paper media that believed easily to be manipulated by some groups.

Queen Rania of Jordan is the new buzz in the Youtube world. Her YouTube got a huge attention from people around the world because she is the wife of King Abdullah II of Jordan and among the high profile person. She can publicized in many ways but choose YouTube as her main platform to reach out to the people.

Her YouTube site caught a huge attention from international media such as BCC over the stereotype issue than the Arab people experience since the September 11 attacks. One can go to her YouTube site to participate and leave a video respond and comment about this issue.

Bias stereotype among the Arabs Muslim are spreading fast in the western community. South East Asia shared its own problem too when the radical Islamic group such as Abu Sayyaf and Jemaah Islamiyah creates unrest to the region. This also created lots of bias stereotype to the Islam community in non Islamic nation such as Philippine and Thailand.

With most of the political turmoil caused by religion differences, people around the world become very confused with the events happening around them. Political motivated bias in some news report add up more dissatisfaction encouraged the fear to a religion once not so controversial and has created a group of people such as Queen Rania of Jordan to clear out the misconception of the west and some wrong ideology belief that thought by religious extremist.

The creation of internet platform such as blog and YouTube gave new alternative and unbiased chances for individual people such as you and me to express their opinion about one issue and problem. Nevertheless, the free flow media platform can also used to spread a false concept of issues unless there are more people that care to straighten out and explain the truth. Today we lived in a world where everyone has the chances to express their opinion, interest and socialize in the world that without the political and religion boarder.

Datukship in Malaysia

"Datuk" brings the meaning of grandparent in Malay language. Datuk give a meaning of elderly and is the most top of a family hierarchy and should be respected because of the status. In Malaysia, there are malay title "Datukship" give to particular people that achieved some success and contribution to the people. So, whoever that received this title should be an important people that has contributed lots some to the country or achieved something that was recognized by the country.

"Datukship" even thou it is still an important title, was not look high by most people. Let me bring out two cases that support this mentality among the malaysian. The first is the Nicol David and the second on is Dr Sheikh Muszaphar.

If one read the description of both personalities, which one in should be given such high recognition from the title qualification? Let me make clear who this two personality are.

Sheikh Muszaphar and three other finalists were selected at the beginning of 2006 for the Malaysian Angkasawan spaceflight program. The program arose after Russia agreed to transport one Malaysian to the ISS as part of a multi-billion purchase of 18 Russian Sukhoi Su-30MKM fighter jets by Malaysia. After completing initial training at Star City in Russia, Sheikh Muszaphar and Faiz Khaleed were selected to undergo an 18-month training program in Russia, at the end of which Sheikh Muszaphar was chosen as the prime crew member, while Faiz Khaleed served as back-up. Following the final medical tests and training examinations, on September 17, it was announced that Sheikh Muzaphar would be flying on Soyuz 11.

Both Nicol and Sheikh Muszaphar will be conferred the title of Datukship. Nicole received the Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri (DSPN) award which carries the title Datuk from the state of Penang. Sheikh Muzaphar will be bestowed the Darjah Setia Negeri Sembilan (DSNS) award which carries the title "Datuk" by the Yang Di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Ja'afar.

Some may argue that both personalities had achieved something extraordinary from their work. It might be true but the difference was "Datukship" given to Nicol David was not expected by many. Sheik Muzaphar was long time predicted to get his goodies of present. Nicol who today a number one ranking squash player in the world for a period duration time has achieved an extraordinary feat that not everyone can do. In sports, lots of achievement was presented in the world level but little recognition was given by the people who should honor the credibility of the title itself. I don't want to speculate what really happen as many already knew it.

I feel a bit ashamed by the "Datukship" given to Sheikh Muzaphar as he didn't contribute anything to the country or doing any significant feat that different him to all the world or even to the malaysian. I feel like malaysian government sent a test monkey and sat him at the space rocket and blast him to the space to press some button that configured it easy as possible at zero gravity condition at the space. The worst thing is that he didn't spend any cent on his side. Now, we even gave him a title.

When the Russian open the space travel to the public, it was a huge buzz to people that has the resource and time to experience the journey of the life time. Malaysia having to run out of resource chooses to spent more money from tax payer money buying few jets from Russia, to get freebies that cost equal to a medical and educational incentive policy. To make it worse, they planned to have a second space trip and luckily was rejected.

Penang Government lead by Barisan Rakyat did walk the talk by giving the title to people who qualified and deserved to the title. Even thou this is not a significant event, it present us the changes that we long time awaited. At the moment, I don't really see any different make by Barisan Rakyat state government. It such a sad thing to read in news that some issue between the coalition still on discussion and unsolved.

Forum: Category of Photographer

I got this idea and want to write it for a long time. Here are the thread i wrote and posted in Borneo Shutter for reading and discussion in the forum.

The first category is the Beginner.

Beginner photographers are people who don't have much experience about taking photo and the camera they use. Simply saying, it just like looking our parents aged 50 years plus old handling your high tech camera hand phone that they don't even realized there is a camera in the hand phone. Beginner photographer started to do photography because of friend and peers influences or self inspiration after looking at some other photographer's photo in action.

Beginner level photographer most likely started with a full automatic point and shoot camera. The idea of having automatic point and shoot camera is because of the need of getting use to holding a camera and pointing it to take a photo. Taking advantage of the full automatic function of the point and shoot give chances to the person to spent more time on doing photography creatively without having fear of the technical things such exposure and low light environment.

Beginner photographer can also use a full DSLR no matter it is an entry level or professional gear. The problem with having an expensive gear in such early stage is time that was spent on getting used to the equipment that other manual setting and function that was not used wasted. Having a point and shoot at the beginning can give the person a little taste of how to point your camera to right angle and perspective rather than being confused with all the extra button and function that you might not need to use yet.

The second category is the Amateur and Hobbyist.

Amateur and hobbyist photographer evolved from the beginner photographer. In this level, most of the photographers were already has more time and experience on pointing the camera and took lots of photo as eyes seen fits randomly. Hobbyist photographer will consider on taking similar photo that only can be done with DSLR setting camera. This was the time when point and shoot camera lost out to the semi professional and professional camera. Hobbyist photographer will spend more time on taking photo and in additional on the setting and function that available not just the DSLR but on the point and shoot also.

Hobbyist photographer started to learn about the basic fundamental of photography such as the aperture, shuttle speed, ISO setting as well as the composition, depth of field and the rule of third when doing photography. The limitation of point and shoot really shown in here where some of the lens effect can’t be done and this is when the semi pro and professional gear come in handy. Beside just photographing around with what our eyes seen fits randomly, the photographer started to have its own idea on how he want the photo to look like after that.

Hobbyist photographer must has the basic rules in photography because not all the photo taken due to our skills and experience. Beginner photographer can take a very impressive and good photo randomly without any experience and skills. One such thing I can see on this situation is in landscape photography such as sunset and sunrise photo. The outer factor such as beautiful scenery and less challenging light environment give good opportunity to such few people that happen to be on the right time and right place.

Hobbyist photographers mostly prefer to buy a DSLR camera with at least one lens at disposal. DSLR camera now sold with one so called kits lens in one price range around 2 thousand to 3 thousand ringgit depends to what type of lens offered. The best kits lens that a hobbyist photographer use is the 18-55mm or 18-70mm lens. The add on feature such as auto focus lens and vibration reduction in Nikon lens and Image Stabilizer for Canon lens add extra cost to the lens. External flash can be consider a necessity due to the limited power and usage of the camera flash producing better result in night or low light photography. Additional accessories and lens can be obtained if money is not a problem.

The third category is the Part Timer

Part timer photographer is people who work on a day job and part time in taking photo. The different compared to the hobbyist is they charge money for the photography activities offered. Part time photographer still has their own financial income from their full time job, but they don’t mind doing some extra part time to earn some extra income to support their expensive activities and hobby.

Part time photographer should have a basic requirement of equipment and gear before offering their services and charging money. Part time photographers tend to choose an expensive piece of DSLR camera that cost around 4 to 5 thousand ringgit in range minus the accessories and lenses that can fetch up over 10 thousand ringgit. The advantage between a cheaper DSLR camera body and the cheaper one is the quality of the photo, button range for short cut and convenience, ISO range and the speed of the camera shot frame per second.

Reliable equipments needed to make sure the photography activities will not having a problem that will make the photographer himself looks bad. Additional lens such as wide angle 12-24mm, zoom lens 70-300mm and bigger aperture up to f1.4 with multiple range cost fortune to buy. Some photographer also invest in the indoor studio equipments such as a wireless flash system, high end computer that managed to process large size of photo and interconnected backup, portable and wireless system to take photo outdoor.

There are no different in term of skills level and experience between the hobbyist and part time photographers. Slightly different is the specialty of the photography activities they do. Part time photographer can mostly be seen in low budget events and function because they offered a lower rate than the professional full time. I estimated their price range is around half of the market range offered compared to the full time depends to their experience and work profile.

The fourth categories is the Professional Full Timer

Full time professional not mean the photographer photography skill better than a part time or hobbyist photographer. Professional full time give a meaning of hours of time spend in photography activities by the photographer. Professional full time charges more than the part time. Full time spent more time on the photography activities and their skills and experience supposed to be better than the part time by rights. Professional full time photographer charges can be expensive depend to the photography they do. Most can easily reach above 10 thousand and exceed to 100 thousand in commercial photography.

The equipments that used by the professional full time was mostly high end professional gear. The high demand in quality and skills and the high expectation from the client make the full time photographer to invest more on the reliability and the high end result and effect that most of the conventional mid range photography gear cannot give. Photographer in this category can spend around 100 thousand to 1 million ringgit of equipment depend to his income and investment capability.

This range of equipments can be compared to small and medium business standard where the passion is not merely to earn money but to create a masterpiece that well worth up to the competition that give a high quality result in a high expectation demand in a real competitive market. Some still choose to the old technique equipments that still cost a fortune to buy but a little bit adaptation to the new digital post processing to get the better result to compensate the limitation only electronic can do at the moment.

The different that make among the professional full time photographer is the experience and the photography art work they produce. Professional full timer photographer challenge is to make sure their art work stand out among all many photo exhibited in specific genre and field such as commercial, art and journalism. Photographer that has a very detail insight and observation on finding details that stand out among many photos will excel to success and recognition that will earn him/her as a Master in Photography.

Sultanate of Sulu & North Borneo (Sabah)

It was few month ago my attention in some news article about the Sultan of Sulu and North Borneo who claim his sovereign over Sabah. I started to do some googling (internet search) information about this issue that has been hovering for month over the daily news. I came up first with wikipedia define the Sultan of Sulu as quote,

The Sultanate of Sulu was a Muslim state that ruled over many of the islands of the Sulu Sea, in the southern Philippines. The sultanate was founded in 1450, but other sources place the date earlier. Muslim historians believe that it had existed centuries earlier in the time of Raja Baguinda Ali.

I learned the existence of the Sultan of Sulu and their claim of sovereign but i never thought they really put the name North Borneo or Sabah in their title reign. Since that, few people claim the title of Sultan of North Borneo or Sabah that i found it a bit over too much.

Currently the issue of who would be the legitimate Sultan of Sulu is disputed by several branches of the Royal Family, although the line of succession fell on the Kiram branch of the royal family from 1823 up to the death of the last sovereign sultan in 1936.

I found it a bit confused to find that a Royalty that cease to exist since 1936 come rise again to claim that seem to be impossible in current political term. The Sultan of Sulu even doesn’t have the grip of his main of state in Philippine picking on Malaysia to acknowledge his authority and give Sabah back to them. Now, the Philippine government raised the issue in behalf of Sultan of Sulu to claim back Sabah but i doubt they will give the rule of power to the sultan in their mind.

In 1906 and in 1920, the United States formally reminded Great Britain that North Borneo did not belong to the Crown and was still part of the Sultanate of Sulu. However, the British did turn Sabah into a Crown leased Colony.

The Philippine Constitution of 1941 states that the national territory of the Philippines included, among other things, "all other areas which belong to the Philippines on the basis of historical rights or legal claims." Malaysia was federated in 16 September 1963. Even before Sabah was incorporated into Malaysia, the Philippines sent delegations to London reminding the British Crown that Sabah belonged to the Philippines.

It was to believe that Sabah supposed to belong to Sultan of Sulu but the existence of the Royalty not relevant to the current condition. I doubt that Sabah people will allow this to be happen as having a Royalty not really good thing as they not really relevant to the benefits of the general population but groups’ interest of people that well connected to the beneficiary. Thanks to the United Nation sanction, Sabah not part of the Sulu Region.

Today, the issue was raised again and i was shocked that the Sulu Heir was given such amount of money as a lease to the land of Sabah on 2003 and 2002.

I was not known the legality and the purpose of this letter will affect the claim of Sulu Royalty on Sabah. The historical information on this issue still not knows and researched in detailed. Most of the information only available on Wikipedia and Royal Sulu Offical Website.

It was well known that Sabahan are really easy to persuade and manipulated. I believe the lease was paid to the heir of Sulu Royal due to the fear of rebellion on Moro flown in to Sabah. The influx of the Sulu illegal into Sabah for 2 generation really become main problem raised by the Sabahan politician especially by Yong Teck Lee from SAPP.

With the unstable political balance growing on to the Federal level, uncertainty again the future of the claim will be handle. Sabahan lived in dilemma in which a double edge sword. Independent as a North Borneo Sovereign not the option as it has lots of natural resource such as oil and forest that no nation want to let go. Philippine and Malaysia Government in badly need this well resource land for their exploitation and manipulation. I believe those day when arm conflict happen if the negotiation failed.
