Find the real Anthony Chong killer

Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail said the prosecution will carry on with the two charges of criminal intimidation and voluntarily causing hurt that had been preferred against Conrad.

News Straits Time.

I believe that the Sabah ex-minister not the real killer as was reported in the news. This means that the police and the prosecutor know who the real killer is. I hope that when they’re not prosecuting Conrad Mojuntin, the real killer of Anthony Chong will be exposed. For those who don’t know about this case, it started years ago when a fight that started from drunken people who ended up killed in front of the municipal library. The case got heated up when the alleged killer is sabah ex-minister but many believe that he is not the real killer and the confession due to him want to protect the real killer that is suppose to be his young relatives.

Justices not really serves it purpose when dealing with high profile personalities. There are few sabahan minister well know of his wrong doing ended up protected by the government. One good example is the ex-chief minister of sabah Osu hj Sukam. He is to believe to spent the government money to fund his gambling debts in oversea. When the casinos want him to pay back the debt, the governments willingly protect him by ignoring a court case of him. This will leave a bad image to foreign government about how the state and federal government run the country by protecting the high profile criminal. This is a sad situation for sabahan.

I hope that in the Conrad Mojuntin case, justice will serves no matter who he or she is. If this doesn’t work, I think that we will be at the brink of a dysfunctional government and most of the people will suffers.

writer's note: I found out that one of the victim was a singer and he quite good with it. see the quote from msnbc below.

Daniel O'Neil, 22, of Lincoln, R.I., was a graduate student in environmental engineering. He also played guitar and wrote his own songs, which he posted on a Web site, www.residenthippy.com.

Friend Steve Craveiro described him as smart, responsible and a hard worker, someone who never got into trouble.

“He would come home from school over the summer and talk about projects, about building bridges and stuff like that,” Craveiro said. “He loved his family. He was pretty much destined to be extremely successful. He just didn’t deserve to have happen what happened.”

O’Neil graduated in 2002 from Lincoln High School and graduated from Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., before heading to Virginia Tech, where he was also a teaching assistant, Craveiro said.

A Lafayette publication said that while there O’Neil was vice president of the Arts Society. His high school yearbook noted he was on the cross country and outdoor track teams, the drama club and the National Honor Society, according to the Providence Journal.

Chong Kah Kiat: Resignation not a lost and it’s true.

I never see any significant on the former chief minister Chong Kah Kiat in Sabah political platform. He was once taken a chief minister post of Sabah, and it was actually a political chess game played during the breaking out of Parti Bersatu Sabah from Barisan National in which started the invasion of United Malay National Organization into Sabah politics. I found out in a reading in internet that I cannot verify and it stated to bar any politic party from Malaya to involve in Sabah’s politic to ensure the rights and autonomy as agreed in the establishment of the Federation Malaysia. This is not the first time that Sabahan peoples were cheated by its own illiteracy of the law and constitutions.

Chong Kah Kiat was actually an opposition political party along with Democratic Action Party in the pre UMNO invasion. The fall of PBS during the political crisis give the party a new and major life line to LDP. Sabah Progressive Party was founded by PBS exile after he quit the party because he was sidelined on the election. During the political storm, it left many political in PBS jumping like a frog hopping from one party to a new one such as UMNO and Parti Barisan Rakyat Sabah and others hankie panky party that grow from the pieces of PBS itself. PBS is fortunate able to survive the greatest crisis of his political history and become an opposition party and still able to influences the politics in Sabah. After many years of exile from the Barisan National, PBS returns back to its former coalition as some believe with the help of former Chief Minister Chong Kah Kiat itself, but the set back is that it has fewer seats in the Assembly Council. Nevertheless, the truth and verification of this information only available and exist in the mind of the Sabahan people. The former glories of this multiracial party no longer exist anymore in Sabah.

Chong Kah Kiat as I know myself never did any significant good thing to the Sabah development or political platform. He is a low profile politician in which only have the minority holding in Sabah politics. So, because the backing of the big player such as UMNO, he will never get to be sited on the top post. Many allegation of his wrong doing in his process of transforming Sabah and the financial plan he has during his time. Such as the privatization car park city system and the take over some land allegation added over his account and it has given Sabahan a very bad year indeed. Once a statement I remembered that printed out in Daily Express as he quote that a Chinese cannot be a chief minister of Sabah is a great insult to the the local Chinese community.

At the end, Chong Kah Kiat resigned the post of deputy chief minister of sabah and it is believed to cause by conflict with the present Chief Minister Musa Aman over some personal issues that raised. Prime Minister Malaysia Abdullah Badawi as quote said that the resignation of Chong Kah Kiat not a great loss to sabah is quite true. The representation from his party merely small, as I know only with the backing of UMNO and not really favorable by the local people itself especially from the Chinese community. The statement from the Prime Minister Malaysia itself mean that Liberal Democratic Party now are alone in his political fight and no more protection from its big brother anymore.

Twisted Story of Virginia Tech Shooting Incident by Harian Metro

I get to know the Virginia Tech shooting incident via watching the CNN news at midnight. I shocked to know that more than 30 people were shot dead by the shooter that claims to be an Asian but unknown if he was the student or not. I won’t get in the detail of this event as you can get it via internet. Duh!

I saw a post ping via Project Petaling Streets by Hafiz Noor Sham who highlighted an article in the Harian Metro. The journalist who wrote the article is Abdullah Wahab was claimed to be misquote almost in every context of the event and what really happen. I don’t really know if he knows what he wrote and why the editor of this newspaper allowed such article to be published without cross check the event via internet or its source.

Abdullah Wahab wrote about Brendan Chan, a Malaysian student becomes a target of the shooter who claims to be in “amuk” condition as I quote;

“Kemudian saya lihat orang ramai segera lari menyelamatkan diri sambil menjerit. Saya cepat-cepat masuk ke dalam pejabat kolej dan mengunci pintu,” kata Brendan Chan, 25, pelajar Malaysia di Virginia Tech, Amerika Syarikat, yang menjadi sasaran amuk seorang lelaki menyebabkan 33 terbunuh.

This paragraph I believe was discredited by Brendan Chan as digimushu in ReCom.org a site for student who studying aboard in Virginia Tech Shooting thread as quote

I love how harian metro "pusing" my account...

In which he post a second post detailing what really actually happen via forum post. Imagine what it mean if a journalist being discredited for writing a false report about an incident in which most of us know what happen via internet and satellite news. Even thou Abdullah Wahab is the writer, but it should not be blamed over one person. That is why every news production we need an editor to filter up the news. I have an experience over an article that I posted for an opinion forum in MalaysiaKini website was actually reedited its wording. The changes were obvious but the content change slightly.

Many of newspaper production do some fact twisting to sell their news. It is not a strange thing in journalism line but Abdullah Wahab and maybe his editor has set a bottom line and tested the mentality of every Metro Harian reader to his stupidity. It might be fun to read the twisted version of this article but this proof that it is not the reader who actually need to do fact finding but the reporter and the editor themselves need to rethink the way of how to write a report. The best way is to back to your school and take ethics in journalism 101.

There are more about this twisted fact. You just need to click the link below to know more and then make your own judgment.

Real Children Issue in Sabah

Again, it has been long time I stop posting real issue in this blog. Too filled up with my wedding profile and works so that others especially my potential customer can have a look over it. And it started to look like a photography blog rather than my personal blog.

It has been a while for me reading on the daily news paper about a child that killed himself because of poverty. I understand it is a serious matter. This incident gets lots of attention from the society from the professional to the politician. The picture about the suicide boy has been published on the front page for couple of week and lots of article discussion about suicide not relevant and relevant with this event starting to surface for the extra a week until I get sick and tired reading some article that even a form 5 SPM student can write better than that. I don’t really want to mention which one but, I started to feel déjà vu reading the same point again and again that I read before past few years ago.

I don’t think of discussing about suicide can make any different to it. This time is different because I starting to get sick and tired having to look at the word suicide for three weeks time straight. I’m not really against the reporter and contributor article to write about the suicide but isn’t it felt like too much? Why? The reason is that it won’t change the statistic or convince future suicide to stop doing it. When a person has the intention or the will to suicide, they already give it a deep and great thought about it and a chain of problem occurs upon themselves such as mentally breakdown or stress. Many factors that could lead to that but I don’t want to elaborate it as I believe one of those articles are already covers that. One article mentioning it enough but when the second one out, it started to feel boring.

The thing that I find it so hard to sell to society is about the children. Children issues cover lots of problem from violence abuse to social problem. It mind bothering me to see children that below age 12 working in coffee shop serving food although most of them is not documented meaning born here but illegal to a happy family with kid the same age complaining want to go to McDonald to eat. One argument that thrown to me is that they better off than begging at the streets or stealing. Yes, I do agree with that, but the real question is are they really better off by working at coffee shop and get a same amount of salary for them. Do they get protected by the law and get insurance coverage when accident happens. Don’t talk about Malaysia law on child labor; I don’t really think the law enforcer really looking hard to prevent it.

Those kids even thou doesn’t have a legal document should have the rights to get a proper education for free. This should solve lots of social problem that happening around us by them. This is the mistakes that we have to bear from our predecessor over the policy they set when giving them an asylum and letting them to stay here and multiply. The cost need to pay by the new generation, wiping off the mess of the past. I think this is the right thing for us to do for them.

It looks simply wrong to see those illegal kids that are taken opportunity of their desperate life for a simple cutting cost for your business. I doubt that they get the same amount of salary compare to the adult if even they do not have a proper document. Think about it. Indeed that the suicide issue started from a boy that living in poverty and get daily doses of mockery from his peers that ended up hanging himself. This is really sad. The twisted turn is that it not really about the boy anymore, but more about finger pointing to some people or government department. Guess what, nothing really happen after that.

I still remember a local boy that was thought as illegal streets was left dying at public streets because no one really go and help him. We got an A+ for not kiasu but FAILED terribly on help and care society. Illegal kids was actually an issue in Sabah’s Assembly Hall but was rejected instantly by the associated department as that is not their concern. Again, it is really a sad story. This left to the non government organization who really publicizing the issue and get help from the private sectors to donate. So, what really is happening to our (Kota Kinabalu) society?
